To help companies prepare for ISO certification and subsequent management reviews, QCA developed and applies a highly-effective method to define the organization’s COTO (Context Of The Organization). This methodology considers more than 70 factors used to identify the current and pending risks and opportunities of the company. These are prioritized by importance and solution practicality. The top priority items can be used to develop an effective near-term action plan for the organization. The significant risks and opportunities provide the basis for, or input to, the company’s longer-term strategic plan.
What we quickly realized was that the approach we use to develop a company’s COTO could be applied to develop effective business strategy and operating plans for companies that were not ISO certified or even considering it.
